Altaire Pharmaceuticals Inc. recently announced a voluntary recall on several eye drops and eye ointments sold at Walgreens and Walmart stores. According to the Food and Drug Administration, there’s concern that these products are not sterile and can be harmful as a result.
The Walmart products were labeled under the Equate brand and include allergy relief, eye drops, gel drops and solution. The Walgreens products were sold under the Walgreens label and include several over-the-counter and prescription eye drops and ointments.
Please check any over-the-counter medications you may have purchased from these stores and replace the products as needed.
