Meet Kate A. Montealegre, one of our new fellows at Minnesota Eye Consultants! Originally from North Oaks, Minnesota, Dr. Montealegre attended college at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse and then received her Doctorate of Optometry from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. While in school, Dr. Montealegre participated in vision screenings at both the Special Olympics and the Junior Olympics, and completed a three month rotation in Guanajuato, Mexico, serving a disadvantaged population. She has also traveled to Washington, D.C. to lobby for Optometry as a part of the annual AOA Congressional Advocacy meeting.
Now, she continues to be involved as a member of the American Optometric Association, the American Academy of Optometry, and the Minnesota Optometric Association.
