Minnesota Eye Consultants (MEC) is proud to announce its 25-year anniversary as the premier ophthalmology practice in this region. Focusing on Laser Vision Correction, Cornea Disease, Cataract Surgery, Glaucoma Treatment and Eye Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the practice serves as a teaching facility – training ophthalmologists and clinical professionals throughout the world on vision correction management.
After over nine years of practice at the University of Minnesota, Department of Ophthalmology, Dr. Richard L. Lindstrom opened his private practice on January 1, 1989. The practice has seen significant growth in its 25 years, now with 27 providers and 5 locations in the Twin Cities metro area. The surgical team at Minnesota Eye Consultants is comprised of sub-specialty trained, board-certified physicians with years of experience in the field of ophthalmology. Their mission is to preserve, restore, and enhance vision through research, teaching, and providing the highest quality medical and surgical care to patients.
Minnesota Eye Consultants has been highly committed to ophthalmic research since the practice began. The demand for the practice’s involvement in eye research grew to the point that in the year 2000 the office was remodeled to incorporate a separate research department. The practice has retained a dedicated Research Department since that time under the direction of David R. Hardten, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Minnesota Eye Consultants has clinics in several Twin Cities communities, operates three Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs) for convenient access to surgical care and will be opening a fourth clinic and ASC in February of this year at 394 and Hopkins Crossroads in Minnetonka.
