Dr. Johnna Hobbs is originally from Aurora, Il. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Minnesota, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Humanities. She then went on to receive her doctorate from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, graduating Cum Laude. While there, she served as a low vision teaching assistant and was the fundraising chair and president of the Optometric Services to Humanities. She also received the Feinbloom Low Vision Award.
Dr. Hobbs has over 20 years of experience working with refractive surgery patients. Before joining Minnesota Eye Consultants, she practiced at TLC Laser Eye Center of Edina where she served as both the Clinical Director and Clinic Manager. At TLC, she worked with patients seeking LASIK, cataract surgery and implantable Collamer Lenses. She now uses this experience to help the patients in her ocular surface disease and dry eye practice. She also serves as the Director of Optometric Services at Minnesota Eye Consultants.
When she is not working, Dr. Hobbs enjoys hiking in state forests, keeping bonsai, and cooking. She also enjoys knitting when she can get the yarn away from her cat, Tsukiji.
