Kiersten R. Snyder, M.D. is Minnesota Eye Consultants’ 2024-2025 Glaucoma Fellow. Dr. Snyder is a distinguished ophthalmology resident at New York Medical College.
Originally from Sacramento, CA, Dr. Snyder completed her Bachelor of Science in Health Science with a minor in Chemistry at Saint Mary’s College of California, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She then earned a Master of Science in Biomedical Imaging from the University of California, San Francisco, and subsequently received her medical degree from George Washington University, where she also concentrated on Clinical and Translational Research. Her postgraduate training includes an Internal Medicine Preliminary Internship at Alameda Health System Highland Hospital in Oakland, CA, followed by an Ophthalmology Residency at New York Medical College.
Dr. Snyder has been honored with numerous awards, including the Thaddeus Wandel Research Award and being a finalist for the ARVO Members in Training Outstanding Poster Award. Her research contributions span various aspects of ophthalmology, with publications in notable journals like Ophthalmology Retina and JAMA Ophthalmology, and presentations at prestigious conferences including ARVO and AAO.
Beyond her academic and research prowess, Dr. Snyder is dedicated to service and leadership. She has volunteered with the Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind and managed the GW Healing Clinic Bridge to Care. She has also been an active participant in the GW Ophthalmology Interest Group and has contributed to the professional growth of her peers as the resident representative on the Program Evaluation Committee at New York Medical College.
In her spare time, Dr. Snyder enjoys hiking, playing volleyball, and contributing to her community through various volunteer activities.
Dr. Kiersten Snyder’s expertise and dedication will be a valuable addition to Minnesota Eye Consultants as she steps into the role of Glaucoma Fellow.
