We would like to welcome Ryan T. Barrett, MD and Kasie J. Mix, OD to Minnesota Eye Consultants as our 2015-2016 Fellows!
Ryan T. Barrett, MD
Originally from Bellingham, WA, Dr. Barrett received his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University in Provo, UT, graduating Magna Cum Laude.
He went on to pursue his medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, WA. In addition to his medical studies, he also completed the International Health Pathways Program and was awarded the prestigious Ellen Griep Award, which is given to one graduate annually for overall excellence.
Following medical school, Dr. Barrett completed his internship at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, CA, where he received the Mercy Care Award. While undergoing his residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, Dr. Barrett was chosen as the Chief Resident of the Baylor Ophthalmology Residency Program.
Dr. Barrett specializes in cornea and external disease, glaucoma, cataract, and refractive surgery. He practices out of our Minneapolis, Bloomington and Minnetonka locations.
Kasie J. Mix, OD
Originally from Glenwood, MN, Dr. Mix obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology with a double minor in Chemistry and Psychology from St. Catherine University in St Paul, MN. Dr. Mix went on to receive both a Doctorate of Optometry degree as well as a Master of Science in Vision Science degree at Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, OR. Following graduation, Dr. Mix completed three clinical externships in the area of Cornea and Contact Lens, Ocular Disease of Anterior and Posterior Segment, and Advanced Care.
Along with providing primary eye care, Dr. Mix has a special interest in Ocular Disease and surgical co-management. She sees patients out of our Minneapolis, Minnetonka and Bloomington locations.
